St. Croix Valley Faith Formation
As the staff at SCVFF strives to meet the goals of faith formation, we are constantly adding new and exciting programs, enhancing programs already in place, and making a sincere effort to meet the needs of all members in the Tri-parish communities. We believe that Faith Formation is empowering. Empowering and enabling individuals and families to live their faith at home and in the world are constitutive of lifelong faith formation.
Our faith formation program is offering a number of options for families whose children are in grades kindergarten through eight. Day-Release program: The Day-Release program class sessions will run from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm. Each grade meets once a month beginning in September. Wednesday Afternoon (Grades k-6): Kindergarten through sixth grade classes will be held an average of two Wednesday afternoons a month from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Classes will be held in St. Mary’s Education Center. (September through May) Wednesday evening (Grades K-8): Evening classes for students in grades K-8 will be meet an average of two Wednesdays each month from September through May. Location to be determined. Wednesday Evening Intergenerational Sessions – Grades K-8 & Adults: Intergenerational sessions are faith formation classes for the entire family and all members of the tri-parishes of St. Charles, St. Mary, and St. Michael, even if you do not have children enrolled in the faith formation program. All adults meet at the same time as the children and the faith formation sessions are held the first Wednesday of the month from October through May. Sessions are from 6:30 – 8:00 pm and will be held in St. Michael’s facilities.
In addition to the first of the month Intergenerational faith formation classes, the Intergenerational program will also include service nights. The service nights will usually be held on the third Wednesday of the month and these are optional for participants in the Intergenerational program.
Confirmation: The schedule for youth enrolled in Confirmation preparation (grades 9 and up) will require attendance with their parent(s), sponsor, grandparent, or other adult mentor at the Intergenerational sessions and two additional small/large group sessions scheduled during each month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
High School OpportunitiesFor our youth, the staff at SCVFF have added LIFE TEEN to our programming. St. Croix Valley LIFE TEEN is a Catholic youth ministry program aimed at serving the 9th – 12th grade teens of the St. Croix Valley. Using the LIFE TEEN model, we are seeking to lead these youth to a greater knowledge and love of Christ within the life of the Church. St. Croix Valley LIFE TEEN is a Catholic catechetical program that seeks to educate our young people in the teachings of the Catholic Church by means which are relevant to their lives. Above all, we are committed to transmitting the Truth of Christ and His Church.
Adult Opportunities: SCVFF also continues to support all the excellent, established adult formation opportunities that the Tri-Parishes have come to enjoy.
